Barack Obama 47%
Mitt Romney 44%
As we have seen in most swing states, Obama still has a big edge in early voting. According to the poll, one fourth of the vote has already be cast and Obama is ahead among those who have already voted 58 percent to 39 percent. It would seem that if the election really comes down to a few thousand votes, the Obama team has the ground game advantage.
The race is extremely tight in Ohio, but every poll for the past ten days has found Obama either tied or with a small lead in the state.
It is almost hard to overstate the importance of Ohio at this moment. According to Nate Silver in 95 percent of his simulations the candidate who captures Ohio ends up winning the election.
I would just like to add, that having the leader of the whole country likely being decided by only a single state is one of the numerous reasons why we should finally eliminate the electoral college. It is both idiotic and unfair that we don’t elect the president with a national popular vote like other sane democracies.
