Of course, these days that applies to either *branch* of the corporatist ONE party system we have.

Until “We the people” join together, repubs,dems,indys,libs and cons, into one force it will be business as usual in DC. There are people on all sides upset with the actions in DC, but how to deal with it is the question. If united we could be a force to be reckoned with, however individually we are just small groups of disgruntled individuals. How to unite is the question of the day.

A bit OT but not by much:

(Reuters) – U.S. incomes plummeted again in 2009, with total income down 15.2 percent in real terms since 2007, new tax data showed on Wednesday.

The data showed an alarming drop in the number of taxpayers reporting any earnings from a job — down by nearly 4.2 million from 2007 — meaning every 33rd household that had work in 2007 had no work in 2009.

Average income in 2009 fell to $54,283, down $3,516, or 6.1 percent in real terms compared with 2008, the first Internal Revenue Service analysis of 2009 tax returns showed. Compared with 2007, average income was down $8,588 or 13.7 percent.

Gee I wonder why?????

Because the earth is flat and that means Big Corp can make profit anywhere while their American employees have to compete on unequal footing with dollar a day third world workers unencumbered by OSHA or EPA.

And, of course, Big Corp owns the United States government, the courts and the media.

In the era of corporate personhood, I guess this constitutes a murder/suicide to cover everyone’s tracks. This is money laundering straight up. What is to stop a foreign corporation, Saudi prince, or another government from hiding their contributions this way?

I’m just amazed the corporations haven’t demanded that the politicians they own wear advertising on their suits like nascar. This would make it so much easier for them to see how many they have purchased and with ones they need to buy.

The hefty size of the W Spann contribution, and its murky origins, highlights the growing prominence of groups like Restore Our Future, one of a wave of super PACs that are amassing hefty campaign war chests this year — unrestricted by any limits on how much they can collect from corporations and other wealthy donors. But given the way things are, why should any of these greedheaded monsters give a stuff about who gives them big buck$$ or for what purpose. Money talks. There have long been rumblings that the liberal base is ticked off at President Obama, but the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party just put that frustration into writing: They’ve passed a resolution exploring calling for a primary challenge to Obama.

Now, this is largely symbolic, but it’s heavy nonetheless. They’re ticked that Obama hasn’t ditched the Bush tax cuts, has continued drone attacks overseas, and hasn’t ended the foreclosure crisis, among other sins listed below. The straw that broke their collective caucus backs, Caucus chair Karen Bernal told us Wednesday, was Obama’s — as the resolution put it — “unilateral closed-door budget offer to slash Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, which endangers the New Deal and War on Poverty safety nets.”

“Our silence,” Bernal told us, “is a price that’s too high to pay.”

So last weekend — July 30 — at a meeting in Anaheim, the Prog Caucus broke their silence.

But doesn’t Bernal remember when Teddy Kennedy challenged incumbent Prez Jimmy Carter in 1980…who lost to President Reagan later that year? Isn’t she afraid that, as a Democrat, a primary challenge could weaken Obama and possibly lead to a Republican president?

“We already have one in so many of his policies,” Bernal said.

Ouch.

At least it will convey to BO that California may already be lost due to his Hoover record!! Suck it up Obama Suck it up!!!!!!!

Not a “fair fight” for the average US voter, no matter how you vote. Not “fair” for me, not “fair” for you, not “fair” for anyone who is middle/working class or lower down the totem pole. So the corporate records list only an attorney to contact.

And for this, corporations receive limited liability for those nameless people. Now there’s a state-by-state campaign for you. Make the pricipals of corporations disclose their identity. But that would mean fewer corporation registration fees for the states. There would be no incentive to multiply the legal entities that you held.

Like Knut @26 says, it’s good that corporations are not asking for naming rights.

Since the CA Democratic Progressive Caucus has already tried to CENSURE Feinstein, I am sure they would have no problem primary-ing her.
