Welcome to part one of FDL midterm election night liveblog. For the most recent list of FDL top 108 House races to watch tonight go here You can also find my list of the twelve House races in early closing states that should give you a sense of how the night will go look here.
During this live blog polls will be closing 6 pm in parts of IN and KY. At 7pm in FL, GA, SC, VA, VT and at 7:30 in NC, OH, WV
6:00 pm – Polls are not closed in parts of Indiana and Kentucky. Let the election night coverage begin! Of course don’t expect much in the way for results for at least half an hour.
6:20 pm – Based on exit polling data (note not completely reliable) Ed Kilgore sees evidence of a bad night for Democrats but not the incredible massive loses Gallup’s generic ballot polling would imply.
6:38 pm – AP calls the first races of the night IN-06 for Mike Pence (R) and IN-05 Dan Burton (R). No surprise there.
6:42 pm – You can find raw leaked exit polling here. Remember take with very healthy grain of salt. Has Mark Kirk (R) winning IL, NV even, Michael Bennet (D) narrowing in CO, Joe Manchin (D) winning WV, and Patty Murray (D) winning WA.
7:00 pm – Polls are not fully closed in IN, KY, GA, SC, VA, and VT
7:01 pm – Rand Paul (R) called the winner of the Senate race in Kentucky and Dan Coats (R) in Indiana.
7:10 pm – With 18% reporting Ben Chandler (D) is holding his own in KY-03 with 55.6% of the vote Andy Barr 44.4%. This is one of my top early seats to watch.
7:25 pm – Not looking good for Baron Hill (D) in IN-09 with 11% reporting. losing 41.2 – Todd Young 53.9.
7:30 pm – Polls now closed in NC, OH and WV. Rob Portman (R) has been declared the winner in Ohio Senate race. No big surprise.
7:40 pm – Bad sign for Dems. With 11% reporting in IN-02 Joe Donnelly (D) 38.3 – Jackie Walorski 55.9.
7:50 pm – KY-06 has been called for John Yarmuth. He was expect to win but it shows that the GOP tide will be high but not greatest swing in history high.
8:00 pm – FDL liveblog part two.

Rubio +21. Nasty.

You’ll remember now as the good old days, John.
It’ll still suck to see it in the flesh, so to speak.

I’m pretty sure the Ky Senate race has been called for Rand.
Our US Senate just dropped 120 points on their average IQ score. Now they’re deep into negative numbers.
Wowza… not totally surprising, but what a big ICK factor. Add Angle to the “heady brew” of AynRand & bring on teh crazeee Bachmann. Great. Stupidity rules.
GA-6 called for Price (R,Inc) uncontested
IN-4 called for Rokita (R)
KY called for Paul 56.4, 43.6, 9.9% reporting (last polls I saw were Paul +15)
Can understand it, but he should’ve either voted 3rd party or put “Public Option” on the ballot. I wouldn’t vote Repub simply “teach a lesson.” There is no lesson learned that way. sigh… oh well…
And so: on it goes….
Rand Paul wins… Put on your clown noses and let’s all join the circus. As dismaying as this coming decade is going to be and as tired I’m going become of eating canned beans and tuna fish, I think there’s going to be a lot to laugh about. I’m sick of complaining. Maybe I’m just losing my mind.
First Senate turnover of the night, in a state where the ‘retiring’ incumbent hates, hates, HATES raising money but is sitting on ten million dollars: INDIANA. Bye Bayh
KY-2 called for Guthrie (R,Inc)
People have been forwarding the right wing hate email to me. For some reason my relatives are on these chain letter lists. The dominant theme these days is Pelosi-hatred, and it sounds like this retiree from NJ is mingling with that crowd. They really believe the country is going socialist with Obama, Reid and Pelosi.
KY-1 called for Whitfield (R,Inc)
VA-6 called for Goodlatte (R,Inc)
VA-7 called for Cantor (R,Inc)
From Tweetland:

I don’t know if they’ve called it or not, but you can count Wolf (R,inc.) in Va-10. My district.
VA-4 called for Forbes (R,Inc)
FL Rubio 48.6, Christ 29.8, Meek 17, 1.1% reporting
If Rubio goes over 50% I guess all that silliness about who should have dropped out will be moot.
AK Senate so far: Miller, 32.1 Murkowski 32.5.
KY Paul +11 with 21.9% reporting
I’m interested in the spread on this one. I’m looking for about Paul +7.
Obviously, Rubio should have dropped out…
OH, NC, WV just closed.
In Pinellas County Crist is up by about 4K votes, 42-40% but it’s his home county.
Patience, grasshoppers, the night is early.
OH called for Portman (R) with 0% reporting.
I officially think they should count one vote before calling it.
Obama was officially called a douche before any votes were cast.
Sounds reasonable…
Conway campaign says it’s too early to concede.
DeMint congratulates Paul. One step closer to

Elaine: “What ?!? They shrink? I don’t see how you guys walk around with those things.”
KY-3 called for Yarmuth (D,Inc)
Gawd I hope Wacky Jackie Walorski doesn’t win in IN-02. I don’t like Donnelly but Walorski is scary.

From the Urban Dictionary:
Man Tan
A word used by men wishing to explain that they are not gay, feminine or black-wannabe though they are tanned.
He’ll find out what real despair is, once he realizes he’s handed over his birthright to robber barons & brownshirts.
